lung cancer

Lung cancer most commonly begins in the cells that line the lungs. These cells sustain genetic changes that damage the cells, leading them to become cancerous and to grow uncontrollably over time.  There are 2 main types of lung cancer:


  • small cell lung cancer or SCLC
  • nonsmall cell lung cancer or NSCLC - this is the more common form of lung cancer
