Pulmonary edema is an abnormal build up of fluid in the lungs, which leads to swelling.
Symptoms may include:
- shortness of breath
- difficulty breathing
- feeling of drowning
- gurgling sounds
- wheezing
- shortness of breath when lying down - person may need to sleep with their head propped up
- cough
- anxiety
- restlessness
- excessive sweating
- pale skin
- inability to speak
