gastritis Gastritis is an inflammation of the lining of the stomach. The inflammation of gastritis results from infection from bacterium. Symptoms Symptoms may include: burning ache or pain in the upper abdomen nausea vomiting loss of appetite belching or bloating a feeling of fullness in the upper abdomen after eating weight loss stomach bleeding Causes Causes may include: stomach lining becomes overwhelmed or damaged bacterial infection helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) heredity smoking high stress levels regular use of pain relievers excessive alcohol use bile reflux disease autoimmune gastritis - rare condition occurs when the body attacks the cells that make up the stomach lining Treatments Treatment may include: medication
