What is the 15/30 Guarantee?
Our 15/30 Guarantee ensures every patient is seen by a provider promptly. This means an evaluation within 15 minutes of your arrival and a medical examination within 30 minutes of arrival. If we do not meet this standard, that portion of the visit is waived.
RWJ Hamilton provides safe, high quality, efficient emergency care. This guarantee ensures you receive very good care. In an emergency situation, fast and efficient care often yields the best results. As always, all patients are triaged based on the severity of their condition with the most critical patients receiving care immediately. Medical examinations can be provided by a physician, physician's assistant or advanced nurse practitioner.
If the guarantee is not met how do I get a refund?
If you feel the guarantee is not met and you wish to receive a credit to your bill, contact the Patient Relations Department at 609.584.6550.
Please provide the following information:
- Your first and last name (if you are leaving a message, please spell)
- The date you visited the emergency department
- Date of birth
- Daytime telephone number
The Director of Patient Relations will verify the guarantee was not met and work with the Patient Accounts department to adjust your emergency services bill.
If a guarantee was not met, why did I receive a bill for my emergency visit?
A bill is initiated when a service is given at RWJ Hamilton. It is important to understand that the 15/30 Guarantee applies to your hospital visit. You will receive bills for the services you required during your emergency department visit. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Tests performed, such as lab (blood work) and radiology (x-ray and other diagnostics)
- A physician specialist who consulted with your emergency physician
- Ambulance transportation
